YOU ARE THE ARCHITECT OF YOUR FUTURE
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small,
All things wise and
wonderful, The Lord God made them all.
Human beings
irrespective of their race, region, religion and culture were all made by God
in a beautiful way. To everyone He made, he made them special for a purpose and
has a great plan for their lives. The same God that created the engineers made
the carpenters. The same God that created Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Barrack
Obama, Muhammadu Buhari and Warren Buffet to mention a few created me and you
uniquely on earth for an assignment but the ultimate question remains;
“Why is it that some are fulfilled in their
assignment and others not ?”
This
question creates for us two set of people to study critically; the fulfilled and the unfulfilled. If indeed we want to answer this question, then we
need to know more about this two set of observation.
Fulfilled: They are those that believe in God’s plan for
their life and also recognise that they also have their own role to play in the
fulfilment of their God-given dream.
Unfulfilled: They also believe in God’s plan for their lives
but never think or recognise within themselves that they have their own role to
play in the fulfilment of their dream.
The major difference between these two folks is seen in the understanding they have about their roles in the fulfilment of their dream. One believes he has a role, the other does not even recognise this clear fact. Have you ever seen a farmer hoping to harvest without first planting, watering, weeding, applying fertilizer and waiting till the planted seed reaches maturity ? No. If you are to harvest, then you must first plant. We have several people in our world today that want money but are not ready pay the sacrifice required for prosperity. All they want is a ‘sharp-sharp’ money which might even cost them to sacrifice the lives of their fellow human beings but they won’t mind because the love of money has crowded their mind and mentality. They will have money but can’t enjoy such riches. Of what benefit is our money if it can’t be enjoyed ? This to me is not what fulfilment is all about. Fulfilment is all about peace of the mind.
Have you ever seen a student who graduated with a first-class grade in his academic programme that is not studious ? No. Every first class student is a serious student that reads when others are sleeping, pays rapt attention to details and do the right thing at the right time.
Several prophets might have told you sweet things about your life, but if you don’t play your own role, I am sorry, it might become a mirage for life. I can’t forget the story of the man who claim to be the Daniel of his time and went into the lion’s den to dare them but very unfortunate, he never came back to tell his experience. He was completely devoured by the king of the jungle. Ohhh ! What a pity ! What a wasted life. Who knows maybe he would have become a great person in life if he had exercised patience and rebuke the demonic voice pushing him but he wasted his life at the altar of fame. We have some students that were destined to made a first-class in their respective academic programmes but because of the set of friends they keep, they fall short of this standard. Some ended being a cultist and struggle to graduate after some FNG’s while others were rusticated.
The creator has played his own role many years back when he created us uniquely and gave us earth loaded with several resources that will aid our continuous existence. It is now left for us to make wise use of these resources.
He gave us eyes to see
them, and lips that we might tell.
How great is our
creator , who had made all things well.
To every
completed building, there is an architect behind the scene. He draws the plan
and gathers the necessary resources for the completion of the building. In this
case, our future can be likened to the building and we the architect. Our
future is a function of how we draw the plan and corporate with our creator.
Drawing the plan involves a lot but I will mention some few ones. They are:
1. Keeping the commandment of our
creator.
2. Being contended with whatever we
have.
3. Developing a vision for your life.
4. Counting the cost.
5. Choosing your friends and keeping
good companies.
6. Do the right thing at the right
time.
7. Learn to sacrifice.
8. Use your time judiciously.
9. Be prayerful.
10. Be humble and obedient.
11. Seek wisdom and get understanding.
There are
many things that drawing the plans involves that might not listed here but if
you will listen carefully to your creator, he has a way of telling you more of
these things just to keep you in track because he wants you to be fulfilled and
He loves you.
You are the
architect of your future. Remember, your present life is a function of the life
you live yesterday and your today determines your future. Live it well.
Thanks.
