Dad is Divine.

DAD IS DIVINE

Growing up as a child was to me an unforgettable experience as i enjoyed a greater amount of love from my dear parents. The first word i learnt to pronounce was the three letter word dad. As a child i got so used to this word that i call virtually everybody i see on daily basis dad until one day when i got the understanding of who a dad was in the real sense.

The first understanding i had about the father is that they are the male parent, the head of the family and the one responsible for the provision of the daily needs of the family. The second is like this that they are an important tool in the hand of God to bring about the fulfilment of his plan for mankind.

As important as the head is to a body, so is the father to the family. Remember, it is at the head that the most important organs, glands, tissues and cells are concentrated. This analogy to a reasonable extent shows to us how important a man is to the family as vital resources needed for the survival of the family is embedded in him.

As Christ is the head of the Church, so also is the father the head of the family in all ramifications. The head is meant to provide direction to the body, it is meant to house the eyes that aids our perfect vision, and also the brain that controls the whole human body. Therefore to be the head of the house in all its entirety, the father must be able to lead the family in the way of God to achieve God's laid down vision for the family and to also provide direction to the family. Failure to do this as a man is tantamount to destruction, lack of vision and direction, vulnerability to external attacks, and inability to fulfils God's mandate as a family.

Human needs they say is unlimited and insatiable, but in the midst of this unending desire, it is expected of a man to do everything within his possible best to provide the basic needs of the family. The needs of the family like food, clothing, shelter, school fees, bills, rentage and many more. He must also be able to meet the spiritual needs of the family, he must be able to regularly feed the family with the undiluted word of God that is able to save the family from the hands of enemies.

In the agenda of God, man plays a very important role in colonising earth for God with heavenly principles. No wonder God created man first in his own image and gave him dominion over everything He has created. No wonder he choose twelve disciples where virtually all of them are men. The idea of man as the head of the family is as old as creation and divinely arranged by God our perfect creator. His expectation on man is that man be the head in everything. Especially in the fulfilment of his responsibility as the head of the family.

At the fall of the first man, Adam, man lost dominion but thank God for Jesus who had appeared to restore unto mankind all her lost glories and dominion and he has also given us the grace and the spiritual enablement to be man indeed.

Most people think fatherhood is all about the name or fulfilling the desire of their parent or keeping cultural demands but let me shock you, it is far from this, it is in the doing, and fulfilling the expectation of God for the family.

Show me a peaceful society and i will show you a man who is living worthy of his calling as the head of the family. Most of the issues rocking our society today is as a result of poor parenting especially in the area of fatherhood. Many father have left their responsibility undone and pay hid to common rashes. Today is a day for us to retrace our steps as fathers and start to do the needful without any iota of delay because delay may be dangerous.

The real concept of fatherhood is really going to oblivion as many young people are really missing it big time in this present dispensation. Many want to marry but are not fully ready to carry the attached responsibility. Many want to marry but don't have what it takes both spiritually, financially, physically, materially and in many more areas. It should not be so. Remember, Dad is divine and not jocosive.

As i join in the celebration Of this year Father's Day, i want to sincerely give it up to a man who has been a good father in every aspect of it. A man whose commitment to leading the family to achieve God's laid down vision as a family has been spectacular. My dad, Engineer Joseph Ojo Ogunyemi has been a mentor and a perfect model of who a true father is. You have been up and doing in the fulfilment of your responsibility and i pray that the good Lord almighty will continue to strengthen and grant unto the grace to continue to be a good father to us all. I love you dearly.

This is also an opportunity for me to plead with other men in our nation to please wake up to their respective responsibilities. I pray the Lord will provide for you all and grant unto you more grace to be man indeed.

This celebration is also a good medium for me and the entire nation to pray for our ailing President,  General Muhammadu Buhari that the Lord will send forth his hand of healing to heal him wherever he is in any part of the world and deliver him from the hand of the wicked ones in Jesus name. I also want to pray for the acting President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo that the Lord will grant him the grace to be a true father indeed and that the Lord of heaven will endow him with wisdom needed to lead our nation right in the absence of the President in Jesus name.

My special prayer also goes to my dear governor, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose and his able deputy governor, Dr. Kolapo Olusola and the rest able men responsible for the development of Ekiti State, i pray that the good Lord of heaven will bless and keep you all. He will cause His face to shine upon you all and be gracious unto you. May He release unto you the wisdom required to lead the state to her promise land of Milk and honey in Jesus name.

I won't also forget to pray for church leaders all across the globe particularly leaders of the Anglican communion.

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Revd. Nicholas Okoh, our Bishop, Rt. Revd. James Odedeji the Head of the Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion and to my lovely Vicar, the priest in charge of the Anglican Church of Pentecost Oke-ira, Rev. William Casley Swanzy, i pray that the Lord will empower you all and fill you with more power from above. May his spirit never leave you in Jesus and may the Church of God continue to march forward in Jesus name.

This is very important for me to do. Let me also use this medium to re-affirm my love and commitment to ensuring the regular happiness of the wife that the good Lord the giver of all good things will give me. I promise to be a good father to my unborn children and a good husband to my future wife.
So help me God.

Happy Father's Day.
